   The next meeting of the Krewe of Carrollton will be held on Tuesday, May 13^th at the Lions Club of Metairie (1627 Metairie Road) at 7:00pm. As of this writing I am not certain of the chef du jour much less what we will be eating, but I don't think we have ever let you down before.  On second thought-maybe we did with the famous turkey legs.  Thanks Chef Erik. Whatever we serve there will definitely be beer and soft drinks.

CRUISE.....CRUISE.....CRUISE....CRUISE.....CRUISE

That's right the Krewe of Carrollton is going cruising.  Please look at front page of the website about the upcoming cruise that departs New Orleans on July 21st.  Any questions, please contact our cruise director, Sasha.  Also, keep in mind that this is a fund raiser for the Krewe and guests (possibly you have friends) are certainly welcome.

Plans for the Coronation Dance are now finalized for Saturday, October 4.  The music will be provided by Burgundy and will be held in the Grand Salon of the Hilton Riverside.  It seems like along way away but at least put this date on your calendar.  Tickets will be $60.00 per person but will include an open bar and a buffet (not Breakfast) following the presentation.  This is the night we introduce our royalty and we certainly need to show our support.

Float lieutenants are asked to finish finalizing their float rosters.  Please let us know of any openings on your floats as we have people waiting to fill these positions.  I know this seems much earlier than in the past but as the Krewe gets larger and the available spots get smaller thinkgs have to happen earlier.

If you have read this far down, may you get the importance of the Carrollton Cruise.  Not only will this be a great trip, it is a fund raiser for the Krewe.  April and I just got back last week from the same cruise and we and our daughters and their husbands all had a great time.  The food was plentiful and actually better that I anticipated and the shows were good.  For those who have been on cruises before, a cruise is as much fun as the people you are traveling with - and from the early list of travlers this will be a wild trip.  Plese make every effort to attend the meeting.  I look forward to seeing may of you on Tuesday.
